About me
Hey, I'm Tytus, and I'm a recent Chemical Sciences graduate from Trinity College Dublin. During my degree, I specialised in medicinal chemistry, while also engaging in topics across organic and inorganic chemistry, microbiology, and physics.
As part of my final year project, I synthesised, purified, and characterised a new supramolecular ligand, in order to establish its binding strength and properties. My work is being used to help understand how structural modifications to similar ligands affects their activity. For this work, I was awarded a grade of First Class Honours.
Aside from my formal training in chemistry, I am a Python programmer, and since graduating I have been interested in applying my programming skills to problems in science. I have been working on practicing my skills in cheminformatics and data processing, and I am particularly interested in how machine learning is being applied to problems in drug discovery.
I am currently seeking a laboratory-based role or internship in the pharmaceutical or research sectors where I can build on my experience and develop new practical skills.
